By accessing or using Format Remover ("the service") at formatremover.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Format Remover is a free, browser-based tool that removes formatting from text: you paste formatted text and the tool returns clean plain text. All processing happens locally in your browser. There are no accounts, no fees and no paid plans. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to process content you have no right to use.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure.
• Misrepresent the service as your own product, or use its name or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.

Your content

The text you paste stays on your device — we never receive, store or claim any rights over it. You are solely responsible for the content you process and for how you use the output. Do not rely on the tool as your only copy: keep backups of anything important.

Intellectual property

The service — including its design, source code, engine and branding — is owned by Format Remover and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy or reuse substantial parts of it without permission.

Word, Google Docs, Excel, Gmail, ChatGPT and other product names mentioned on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to describe compatibility scenarios; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.

No warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Cleaning results may not be perfect for every input; always review the output before using it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Format Remover and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages — including lost data, lost profits or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We may block access for conduct that violates these terms or endangers the service or other users.
